Title: Printing with Layers

I made a print with an unflattened PSD.

Everything printed fine except for one of the layers - which had an opacity setting of 30%. That specific part of the image printed, with what I can only think, 100% opacity; it was way too light.

Opacities were also set on other layers but they printed fine.

I flattened the image and it printed perfectly.

Does this make sense to anyone?

I don't actually understand what you are saying. That being said, try flattening the PSD file and making a print and see what happens.

i understand...

i never saw a difference in printing a layered file and a flat one...
But usually I make it flat before printing.

There should be no difference obviously; photoshop has to make it flat in producing a printing file.

Odd and no, I've never seen this. When you print or do anything outside of PS with layers, a totally flattened set of data must be sent.
You may want to test this again with various layer opacity just be make sure it is behaving as it should, but of course, the 'fix' is to flatten, save as and print.
Be useful to know: What OS and version, what version of PS,  what printer, is the driver up to date. Also, save the Layered image as a TIFF (which fully supports layers), try printing that.
PSD, useless file format IMHO.

I think that may be where the problem occurred...I send it from PS to Canon iPF8400 Print Plug-in...
OS = 12.2.1
PS 23.2.1
