Title: Kingston Lacey Beech Avenue

In 1835, William John Banks, who had inherited Kingston Lacey in Dorset UK, planted 365 beech trees on one side of the Wimborne to Blandford road and 366 (for a leap year) on the other.  This was a present for his mother Frances.  They are now coming to the end of their life and the National Trust is gradually replacing them with Hornbeams, similar but better suited to being alongside a now much more busy road.
