Post by: hasselbladfan on January 19, 2022, 01:01:31 pm
The new lens is described as light.

Did anybody found some detailed specs?

Somewhere around 2950gm. Don't know if that includes foot / hood.

Yes it does.

The foot is not removable for a start.

Not removable and not Arca-Swiss compatible.... genius!

Not removable and not Arca-Swiss compatible.... genius!

From the pictures the design appears identical to previous Nikon super teles, meaning that it will be possible to unscrew the lower part to replace it by an RRS part. No problem at all.

It may be that the existing part I am using on my 120-300mm f2.8 can be used as is. They seem very similar.

Cheers,
Bernard

So the foot is removable... but the collar isn't. That's like the 70-200S. I am still baffled by the failure of camera manufacturers to "read the room" and cut Arca-Swiss compatible shapes on their long lens feet. Thanks Bernard.

Yes, sorry my initial answer was confusing.
