Title: Cleaning Fuji GFX50r sensor
Post by: Neil Folberg on December 25, 2021, 12:17:12 pm
Hello, This camera is new to me; my other medium format back is a Leaf AFi-ii 12. That I clean with swabs and acetone, as I was shown how to do at the Leaf workshop in Israel many years ago by their technician. Is there any reason to treat this GFX sensor differently?
Many thanks!

No, it's still the same cleaning method.
I clean my Fuji-sensors in the same way as my Phase One and Nikon sensors.
Be careful with the shutter.
Regards,
Ben

As long as there is no IBIS system on the sensor, it should be straightforward.  If you have IBIS, the camera needs to be on, to lock the sensor down, as when off the sensor is free to be moved and from what I have read, not a good idea.  I am not a fan of wet cleaning with the camera on, however with the GFX100 and Nikon Z7, I have gotten used to it.  The Nikon rarely needs cleaning, but the GFX100 quite often, more than a simple blow off.
