Title: Passenger thought vintage camera was a bomb, plane forced to land.
Post by: Robert Roaldi on October 12, 2021, 06:35:27 am
Be careful with those vintage cameras, https://www.ibtimes.com/bomb-scare-forced-nyc-flights-emergency-landing-was-just-ridiculous-error-3313665 (https://www.ibtimes.com/bomb-scare-forced-nyc-flights-emergency-landing-was-just-ridiculous-error-3313665).

And in this case, solving a math problem was deemed risky, https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/may/07/professor-flight-delay-terrorism-equation-american-airlines (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/may/07/professor-flight-delay-terrorism-equation-american-airlines).

Question: why wasn't Karen arrested?

This was a much more dangerous situation:

Quite a few years ago, when I was still shooting 120 film, one dumb but very conscientious security guard at San Francisco airport forced me to rip open the sealed protective aluminum foils on the expensive unused Fuji Velvia film rolls. Obviously, the well meaning idiot had never seen before a small bomb or large format films.

Note to self: Don't take the Deardorff on an airplane.

Better than x-raying them I guess :-)
