Title: Thinking about adding this to a competition.

Hi all, new member here, and thought I would start with an image for critique. I belong to a local photography club that has monthly competitions, and was thinking of adding this one for July's Pictorial Category. So let me hear if you think it's a good candidate and how I can improve it. This was shot at Fort Barry Ca. I was thinking of naming it Battery but the building may not have fallen under that title.

very muted but saturated colors, either washout the colors more and lighten the image or go the route of adding more intense shaped light rays and pull up the oranges.

you might also want to change the blown out highlights to a teal blue outside the door with some of the teal blue streaming in through the holes and hitting the floor.

open up the top right corner a bit and add light from the lower left corner diagonally toward the center bottom of the door.

maybe someone else has a few suggestions for you.

I like it. I don't see any blown highlights unless BAB is talking about the top left. Meh. Clone it out. The only suggestion might be to raise the shadows just a bit along with the contrast. Just a bit mind you. I think it is quite distinctive. Good luck!

meh, now it has become ordinary. No moodiness.
It does, however, expose the Greek scribble, but i can't make out the word. Any idea ?
could add a little mystery to the shot. Or was the decayed door the focus ?
