Hello -
I'd love to buy your standalone copy of Illustrator CS6 for Windows. I'll consider Illustrator 5.5 as well!
I will use it to transfer Solidworks CAD designs exported to DXF files and imported into Illustrator as an SVG file for path joining to drive my vision-guided Shaper Origin woodworking router. At the moment I use freeware Inkscape.
Cheers, Ralph

I use vector graphics creation programs for a living. Illustrator should certainly be able to accomodate your stated needs as it's one of the most robust/mature products out there. But you might also look into either Sketch or Figma as cheaper options. There are certainly even more options than the ones I mentioned but in my line of work they are two of the currently preferred tools.
