Title: Advice on P1 Xf Carrying case

Question to P1 XF users.

If you are using some sort of soft case to pack your P1 inside a hiking backpack, I would be interested in the type of softcase you are using.

I am looking at one able to host a XF + 120mm f4.

I know... a bit hard to find in Japan unfortunately... :-)

It's a great combo with the "compact" 35m...

Perhaps you have seen Herzog's 'Fitzcarraldo' ? A 2021 re-make looms in Japan's extensive mountains ? :)
I took this precise kit to a distant location once, and was disappointed with the 120 which I used as mild telephoto. When at full extension it challenged the smaller tripod setup I used too so don't risk bringing a light one. The 35 produced exciting images, the 120 was 'narrative' and not much else. I later got the considerably smaller f3.5 150, revisited the same location a year later and produced many epic shots, albeit with a larger tripod too.
I'd be really interested to know what you can coax out of your 120 and how you feel about it.

Hi team,

In case someone has similar needs, I have found the F-Stop ICU Small Pro to be just about perfect to carry an XF with one largish lens such as the 120mm f4 BR.

Another option I may be using are the Tenba camera wraps. Even lighter and more compact but probably less protection.

I currently use the Gura Gear 30L or the Tamrac G32. Tamrac unfortunately stopped making the G32 so I am now looking at this line of backpacks

Thanks, but I wasn't look for a photo pack. More a way to protect the XF inside a normal pack.
