Title: Epson SC P-900 Printer Question for Andrew Rodney
Post by: canyonlight2 on December 12, 2020, 04:42:10 am
Andrew,

(I am running a 2019 Mac Pro with macOS 10.15.7 Catalina and running Adobe Lightroom Classic v10.1 to do printing)

I have just received a new SC-P900 and have been trying to set it up. It has been a bugger to get software downloads and installs to work - they don't.

The Driver and Utilities Package Installer wouldn't work because it gave me no Wireless Connection option. I downloaded and installed just the driver (v10.90), but when I tried to add the printer in Systems Preferences I only had an option for an EPSON SC-P900 Bonjour. There was no EPSON TCPIP option.

Do I need to do the fabled Epson Enema procedure? If so, is there a current version?

Note...I also have an Epson WorkForce Pro WF-4820 that was acquired before the SC-P900. If I do the EE procedure should I attempt to reinstall and add printers in the original order?

Many thanks in advance.

Mark D. Segal has an encyclopedic review out on the p900.

Best Regards,
Dale

Did you wait at least 5 minutes for the IP driver to download to the list. Sometimes it seems to take forever.

Don't yet have that printer. You should however use Bonjour if that's an option. I'd also use USB if possible; I avoid wireless printing whenever possible.

Why, Bonjour is crippled with limited settings and no icc profiles.

There's no reason that should be true unless you've got an airprint or other generic driver selected instead of the real Epson one...

Precisely right (if the need to resurrect this 3.5-year-old thread is necessary  ;) )
