Title: First trip to the Lakes since lockdown

England is starting to open up but I am not yet tempted to go to the pub (yet) but a day promising good weather after a week of heavy rain was too tempting so I headed down to Combe Gill to explore this short but very steep valley. The bottom of the valley has an abondened but photogenic watermill (0980). For the next 1.5 miles the beck is deep within the Gill (steep canyon) and getting down to the water is beyond my fitness and skill level but nice long ditance views of multiple falls (0816). Towards the top the valley opens out and getting down to the beck is easy (0956). Lastly the beck exits the Combe (Corrie, Cirque) and drops over a nice waterfall (0858). It might not be as dramatic as Skye but few midges, free parking and seeing only 4 other people are distinct advantages. Ken

Great photos. Perfect weather for a "new" beginning and obviously, you didn't lose your skills during the lockdown!
