Title: monitor calibration

I am trying to calibrate an eizo CG210 monitor using a Spyder 2.2 and the software just hangs at a certain point. I have reinstalled the software, checked all of my cables and connections and the software just continues to hang  and I am unable to generate a profile. I love the monitor but am frustrated in trying to create a profile.  Any thoughts or suggestions? I find that Eizo's technical support is not very helpful. Thank you, Mary Pat

What kind of computer and what OS? Which Spyder package (Express, Suite or Pro)? How many users on your computer? Are you an admin user?

MAC G5 running OSX 10.4.8 and a Spyder 2. I am the only user. I am a freelance Graphic Designer. Mary Pat

It sounds more like a software issue to me, certainly not anything to do with the monitor itself. Try trashing Spyder prefs. If that doesn't work, remove the whole app and reinstall. I'm assuming you have tried restarting the computer.

Probably not what you want to hear, but Eizo ColorNavigator software is superb. It is designed to be used with either Monoco Optix or either of the GMB i1's. I use the GMB i1 Pro device, and compared performance made with GMB Match 3 and Eizo Color Navigator, and the profile made with Color Navigator always shows a perfect grey ramp with no banding or rainbowing.

Hi Mcnally

Just use the bundled EIZO ColorNavigator software with the Spyder2PRO. They work perfect together since ColorVision Spyder2 is one of the three natively supported calibrator brands in the software. The bundled Colornavigator software is actually way better than the ColorVision software, so you are in no way stepping down. The calibration process is also a lot faster with EIZO's bundled ColorNavigator.

I have done a lot of calibrations of a CG210WK with the Spyder2PRO, it is a good combination.

I have tried just about everything: reinstalling the Spyder2 software, reinstalling Color Navigator, running Color Navigator without the Sypder2 software installed as well as running Disk Utility to fix any permission problems. Nothing seems to work. Eizo technical support hasn't been able to duplicate this problem. Mary Pat

Doe you have the USB cable going from the Eizo to your computer during the cal/profiling?
