Title: Fire and Ice

24 hours earlier this had some open water but it turned cold again after a dusting of new snow.
I saw this snow squall moving in as the sun approached the horizon and promptly headed for this spot to get the squall backlit with some foreground interest.
I was expecting some water channels but windblown snow patterns on ice would have to do instead!

I like the soft hues and the warm light on this frozen landscape. The curve of the river that leads to the sun is also appealing.

Thank you very much. Those are all the elements that attracted me to the scene so I'm glad they come through.
