I usually avoid second-guessing, but it struck me that zooming into the heart shape (to form the edges of the frame) gives a concentrated shot that still leaves the "romantic" (read commercial) seasonal context.

I'm still trying to figure if b/white would be too confusing - or not. Trouble with that is, once you see it in colour, your perception can never be virgin again.

The zoom might work, but I think the heart needs the color.

One problem with "refining" the image too much is that it may start to look contrived rather than a scene grabbed from reality.

Rob, I should confess that I was aping Leiter. He used to shoot stuff like this that, on the face of it, didn't make any sense -- until you got into it.
