I like the picture a lot but the grainy frame (or mat) disturbs me

Removing Eric's senior citizen alters the visual balance.
Because of that, it seems to me that the second version loses its right to its shape. I think it now needs to be cropped to a more horizontal format.

Ah, just stick a dark wig (but not too dark)on that senior citizen and Bob's your uncle (or is it Rob's your uncle?) ;)
