So it has arrived.
The new X1D-50c firmware 1.24.0 contains key firmware improvements, including the following exciting new features:
Support for the new XCD 45P lens
Focus bracketing
Image rating in camera
An added 2/3 step for exposure bracketing
All great but I was hoping for the ability to swap the shutter and aperture wheels in Manual Mode like I could on the H series.

All great but I was hoping for the ability to swap the shutter and aperture wheels in Manual Mode like I could on the H series.
The most interesting element for me is the focus bracketing.
Nice that it has the delay options (before starting or between shots, for strobe recycle). And that you can dictate the direction (toward or away from infinity).
Interesting that it does not allow you to specific a number of steps and instead gives you an assortment of somewhat vague settings (extra small, small, medium, large, extra large).
This is for X1D original, a future firmware will add it to X1D-II.

I haven't tried it but you can specify from 2-1000

Oh, you know I read right over that and spaced on it.
Yes, so custom input exists. In the other case, they are probably using the small, medium, large, etc. to assist a more accurate auto function.

Just tried the Focus Bracketing.
Subject distance 700mm
10 steps at Medium towards infinity.
A shame it does not work tethered to Phocus.
Better still if Phocus put them together.
But anyway, possibilities.

Do we see an updated firmware with focus bracketing also for the H6D cameras? The electronic platforms of X1D and H6D cameras are almost the same.

All you can do is ask for it.
I think that Hasselblad will be pretty "focussed" at the moment on products and features it has already promised.

Hey Bob I’ve been asking for it for five years...don’t think they know how to do it. Hasselblad is a marketing company now sort of and they great at giving away cameras but that’s all.
