Keep trying, Peter. You're succeeding. I understand the feeling. I've felt the same way most of my life. There just isn't enough TIME in all of creation. I love to photograph. I love to write. No, that's an exaggeration: back into shooting fashion would be enough. That's an exaggeration too: back into making a few pleasant photographic bucks is closer to the truth.
