It's been rather windy here today; as I was walking along the pavement, I got to a side-street and wondered what in hell was happening to me. I thought hey ho, another mugging. For the first time in my life the wind sent me flying. I hit the wall of a building with my left knuckles, rather sore, and as I turned round or was spun around, trying to get face-on to the air, I grabbed the side mirror of a parked car and it held, and I didn't get my bum or head on the pavement after all. Just as well I don't go for kilts. One humiliation at a time is quite enough.
And Mary Poppins is romantic?
Used to have a young friend here in the 80s who skippered a yacht: told me that on one occasion he had to crawl along the quay to get to his charge. It's sometimes good to be too poor to have a nice boat.

Good thing, you don't have icy sidewalks.

Too true! I'd still be skating!

Yes, of that I have no doubts. The longer I live the more I am convinced of it.
