Years ago I posted a color version of the first. I'm reorganizing my better shots and decided to go for a b&w conversion and include its sister shot which got away at that time.

This is a good pairing.
Is that the family dog at the surf's edge in the first?

I think the figure is framed just a bit close to the bottom of frame, especially in the first

Probably. I was shooting the waves when I saw this and it was a reflex shot. For the second I had few more seconds and got the framing better. I got used to the first though.
