I think my current favorite is this year's bunch is the magnetized cockroaches, but there are many excellent contenders.

I am scandalized! How can anyone prefer magnetized cockroaches to the volume of saliva produced by five-year-old children? Utterly preposterous. No doubt the next claim you're going to make is that global temperatures are increasing because of industrial activity.
