Title: IR Conversions for X1D?
Post by: Fotophil on August 17, 2019, 01:14:19 am: Is anyone aware of X1D Cameras that have been converted to IR? There are a number of Fuji GFX 50S Cameras that have been successfully IR converted here in the US so it appears that the Sony 50 MP Chip is IR friendly. Currently one of the popular conversions is based on the clear "full spectrum" filter which supports visual full color, mixed visual-IR and pure IR imaging when the appropriate filter is placed on the taking lens.

Google works really well for finding information. Internet forums are the best place to find out how individuals feel about something, reliable information... harder to find.

Post by: Fotophil on August 28, 2019, 07:28:33 pm: Thanks for the tip. Max Max has done a full spectrum IR conversion on a X1D so half of of question is answered. The next step is to establish how well the X1D Lenses perform in IR.

The camera was done a while back and only color testing was done before the customer picked up his camera so there is no IR performance info. The shop is going to try and contact the customer for additional info. So all that I know is that the conversion can be done for $650 and it was able to produce good color images when used with the cyan colored CC1 Color Correction Filter. I hope to learn more.
