Title: It's Hot In Germany

How hot? So hot, that in Sachsen (Saxony), they had to limit on several older stretches of the Autobahn the maximum speed to 100km/h (62mph) and 120km/h (75 mph).
At high speeds the road becomes extremely hot which causes the surface to buckle and rip. The technical term for this type of damage is called "blow ups".
In 2013 and 2015, the blow ups at 34C temperatures caused serious damage of the Autobahn in Saxony and Bavaria, and even a motorcyclist's death.

This week, they expect in Germany record temperatures. The forecast for Wednesday is 40C (104F) which would make it hotter than in southern Europe.

Today, in the Netherlands, we had the hottest June day since the beginning of the official records in 1901. Salt is being used to keep the asphalt roads from melting. My weather station only recorded 36°C (96.8F) thanks to some clouds.

My son is in Zurich this week. Record heat there too.

Ontario has been also colder than in the previous years. Water temperatures in Lake Superior and in northern part of Lake Huron are around 7C (44F). That's colder than Atlantic Ocean in St. John's, Newfoundland. Tomorrow, in Southern Ontario, we are supposed to get at least one week of hot and very humid weather.
 
Could have something to do with all the fracking, industrial development, and pollution.

The solar panels will have to be dusted off. According to the latest weather reports, there is a significant amount of Sahara dust in the air streams over Europe. Not only this will create cooling effect, but it should also improve atmospherics for spectacular sunset photography.
