Title: The Car Park Shot
Post by: Dave (Isle of Skye) on June 19, 2019, 12:25:33 pm
Well I am sure I don't have to tell you all where this shot was taken, as it is probably one of the more famous locations for photography anywhere in Scotland. But perhaps what is unusual about this particular view of it, is that I took it directly from the car park and standing right next to the car and again there was nobody else there but me (other than the missus making me a cup of tea for our picnic, of course!  ;))

I have been shooting at this location hundreds of times over the years now and when I do occasionally see other photographers here, they always seem to get out of their vehicles and straight away head off down to the larger lump of rock sticking out into the sea and there is nothing wrong with that of course. But if you do find yourself at this location, then don't forget to have a go at this shot and a few others from this viewpoint, before heading off down to the beach and along to the honeycomb cliff area at the other end of it. Just park in the lower parking area as far towards the sea end of it as you can, stick on your medium zoom lens and this is the frame you will see.

Oh and a nice bit of late evening side light is also good, as it will help to sculpt the scene for you - enjoy! :)

Superb!

Thank you so much  :D

I know and even though I am stood in a car park next to my own vehicle drinking a cup of tea, it still looks like a complete wilderness doesn't it?

Excellent. And well chosen spot for those who made the car park there.

Thanks again everyone  :)

We're in for some seriously stormy weather coming all across the UK over the next few days it seems, in fact it's almost getting to the point where we have a regular monsoon season over here during early summer. First we get a drought and then we get floods, but anyway, it looks like being a good time to spend a while processing a few more images..  ;)
