Title: How Long Can You Use UC k3 ink?

Wondering if I can use a half empty 7 year old 330 ml K3 magenta ink in a pinch without damaging the print head? It has been stored in a cool dry dark place all this time.

My experience with 3 year old ink was not good. I wouldn't recommend it.

It depends on the printer I think.  Certainly, the inks for the 3880 worked well two years after expiration but that printer seldom had clog issues.

Ya, but John is talking about SEVEN years.

Also, a 3880 has 180 nozzles/inch, while the x900s and SC-P5000/7000/9000 are 360 - i.e.much smaller nozzles. I understand this could also affect how the printhead reacts to irregularities of the ink.

Thanks, I’ve never heard one way or the other.

Yea, it’s not worth the risk ruining a new printhead. The color could be shifted as well.

I had these left over from another printer that I used for monochrome inks. I need to throw them out.
