From a few days ago on the NW coast of Scotland during some horizontal rain, that had been ongoing for about a fortnight (that's two weeks for our American friends ;D) and I haven't seen anything like this before over the islands.
The weather had been so bad for so long it had started to become amazing. You know I often hear fine weather photographers complaining about the weather up here in Scotland and saying it can be really awful and cold and windy and my gear might get a bit wet and I am starting to get the sniffles, etc, etc, etc, No, it can be utterly amazing... :)

Skye really is an amazing landscape, with great seascapes and skyscapes thrown in for good luck

That's a beauty. Regarding 'weather,' I hear you, brother. Cold and windy are synonyms for Reykjavík.

Thanks Rajan and you obviously know what I am saying is true. And no it doesn't always work, as bad weather can just be that sometimes. But if you want to capture something different, then you have to go out when the weather and atmospherics are doing their utmost to try and keep you indoors, because sometimes it's the worst kind of weather that can show you something quite amazing.

Great image Dave, I am more used to East coast haar which is usually blanket mush. Off to Skye in 10 days time and am looking forward to some foul weather but perhaps not a weeks total rain. Ken

The worse the weather, the apt I am to go out. :) The weather on the Northern Plains can get pretty extreme.

Good weather forecast for this coming Sunday, as in we should have had a little more fresh snow on the tops and the wind is supposed to be light at around 4mph and so the lochs will be like shiny mirrors. Although I don't know if it will last up to you getting here Ken, but I sincerely hope it does :)

I just go out whenever I feel the need to Ken, more than a few days without my fix and I am out there with my camera hunting, no matter what the weather is doing and yes I know what you mean, as we can get some really grizzly conditions up here too. But then when I look around at the scenery on a beautifully clear day, then I realise how it is all down to that grizzly weather over a few million years, that has help to make this place so amazing. ;)
