Title: Attabad Lake, Pakistan
Post by: shadowblade on November 18, 2018, 04:29:50 am
Attabad Lake in the upper Hunza valley, formed when the Hunza River was blocked by a landslide during an earthquake in 2010, drowning several villages. From the lake shore, one can still see submerged houses, cars and trees, partly obscured by the sediment suspended in the water. Taken from Ondra Hill, overlooking the village of Gulmit.

Also, I wish someone would kill off sRGB and adopt a new, wider-gamut standard. I had to really dull down the turquoise and yellows to make it even somewhat fit, despite the image easily fitting within Adobe RGB, and settled for a compromise in the shadows (since making all the shadows fit with sRGB without significantly changing the tone would have meant raising the black level to 35,35,35 in Adobe RGB, resulting in washed-out blacks).

Four stitched vertical frames taken with A7r3 with 100-400 GM at 111mm, f/10, 1/125, ISO 100.

Re-cropped it a bit - looked a bit too centered after I got home and had another look at it.
