Title: Nikon Z7 EFC question
Post by: Paul2660 on November 16, 2018, 06:50:48 pm
Question on the Electronic First Curtain option on the Z7.

When it's enabled, does it work in all shutter modes? I realize it stops at shutter speed faster than 1/2000.

With the D850, as I understand it, the EFC only works in Mirror up mode, requiring 2 presses of the shutter, one to raise the mirror, then the 2nd to work the shutter.   As the Z7 is mirrorless, does the EFC mode need anything besides a single press of the shutter to work?

Thanks
Paul C

single press...

Only draw back as you mentioned is the 1/2000th sec limit...
and if i understand Jim Kasson correct it indeed results in less shuttershock

and on a d850 ist also works with one press in quiet mode and quiet mode continu ( about 3fps) but the mirror flips
or in live view without a mirror flipping.
