Title: Parrsboro & Advocate Harbour area (Nova Scotia)

A few shots from a quick trip up to this interesting area of the province, which sits on the Bay of Fundy. Travelling there we had variable sun and cloud.

The next day began with some interesting light, which eventually turned into heavy overcast.

Heavy rain overnight. About half-way home, it let up just enough to get out of the car without getting totally soaked.

These all sat "Nova Scotia" to me, in the nicest way.

The second one is essence of Fundy.

Thanks, Eric. There are subtle differences between the north (New Brunswick), south (Nova Scotia), and middle shores of the Bay of Fundy (Parrsboro and area), but the Fundy tides truly mark this area of the world. As the ecosystem changes, people and places are changing with it. Parrsboro, once a shipbuilding centre, and a port for shipping coal from Springhill, is becoming a haven for artisans and trying to promote tourism. Locals still fish (including the fishing weir below – now a rarity) and dig clams when the tide is out.

Thank-you guys. I posted a number just to give viewers an overview of the area. They are hand-held snapshots, not professional landscapes (I don't get up early enough for those).  :)

Ah Nova Scotia. Lovely images, snaps and all. I can't recall going to Parrsboro, but I sure remember that I loved the Nova Scotia landscape. To me it was like having many kinds of landscapes, except desert, in one area. Also remember being so excited to see all my ten rolls of slides only to have many ruined by the processing company, Benjamin Labs, no longer in business. My compensation, replacement rolls :'( Still have the image of two boys pushing a homemade raft across the river being guided by a rope. It was near Bridgewater, if I recollect. It reminded me of Huck Finn characters. Even won a prize (that they turned into stamps) from Canadian Geographic for a shot of Peggy's Cove at twilight.
