This is one of my favorite landscape photos. I've already edited it. Does anyone have any suggestions for how I can improve it?

that is stunning, absolutely stunning. what gets me about it is the 12 or 13 layers of the land. initially you see a couple of layers, but then when you finally look down you see layer upon layer!

i don't like the jet trail, but that's a fact of life these days.

Lovely photo... the top clouds distracted me... like dark, bright, dark.... I cropped them out.

Jet trail (squiggly in upper left) is distracting too.

How about an ND filter, or a ND and Polorising folter

but, the image is excellent in its own right, well done

What would a ND filter do that simply changing the exposure or allowing for a differnt f/stop and/or shutter speed?

A polarizer right into the sun would have little effect except on reflections off shiney surfaces.  There don't seem to be many.

If it were mine, I think I would crop it much more panoramically, just below the yellow, so that you would have the dark silhouettes of hills leading to the deep red and orange glow of the sky.  The bright yellow is so intense and there is so much of it that it distracts me from the mood set by the subtle differences of the various ranges of hills.  The dark overhanging clouds at the top of the frame start a new idea altogether, so I would definitely leave them out.

I was wondering what the streak was in the upper left; a jet trail never crossed my mind.

I agree with all the cropping suggestions.

Thank you for posting your image. I find the land more interesting than the sky in this image. The layering and texture of the landscape are quite beautiful on their own without the colours and of the sky and clouds. I also find the dark cloud shape cumbersome. I have offered here a sample crop to consider.

First of all, a great capture!  Always the starting point.
Another variation is to crop away the upper problem and split tone away the apparent over contrast.
This can give the image more of a "human eye" view.  Maybe more like the compensating eye would see the whole scene -viewing the dark regions - then viewing the light regions - and having the eye adjust to each scene.
