Hi,
I've just started shooting RAW with my new Sony DSC-R1 and am having trouble getting Photo Mechanic 4.4 to work with me. I've got my prefs set to combine RAW+JPEG on the contact sheet and to edit only the RAW when I go into Photoshop. First off, when I ingest, Photo Mechanic renames only the JPEG, not the RAW file. And then when I edit externally the displayed JPEG (which I thought I had set up to open the RAW in Photoshop), the JPEG goes into Photoshop. Help! I've searched the CameraBits website with no luck. I can't get Photo Mechanic to recognize my RAW files! I'm thinking now that the Sony's RAW files, .SR2, are not recognized by Photo Mechanic, but I can't find anything about this on their site.

I've been using Photo Mechanic for a few years now and am familiar with it. I haven't heard much about RawShooter; is there a compelling reason to make the switch? I'd prefer to stick to Photo Mechanic if the two are similar. Is anyone else using Photo Mechanic with a Sony R1?

Try their forum [a href=\"http://forums.camerabits.com/]http://forums.camerabits.com/[/url]
Someone might be able to explain on there, or might have a plugin to enable your raw files to work with the program
