Either a weasel or some kind of a mink. Weasels are usual smaller (around 20-30cm), minks are slightly bigger.

Any thoughts on the shot itself, out of curiosity? I rather like the light.

Overall the light is nice, but with the mongoose in the shadow it's not ideal.  It's not bad, but if it had been in the sunlight it could have really been cracking!
