Title: Color Management is Art
Post by: 32BT on March 19, 2018, 04:19:37 am
Well, perhaps color management is more art than science. Some of you already knew that of course, but still: this (https://www.gerhard-richter.com/en/art/paintings/abstracts/colour-charts-12/1025-colours-6085/?&categoryid=12&p=2&sp=32) sold for over $10 million.

Well somebody needed a quick color test chart to profile his Hasselblad H5D-200c?

I wouldn't have paid a dime for it....it is obviously made with sRGB profile, not ProPhoto.  So many out of gamut colors.

There's also a "transparency" of that. Large format.

I think I'd have a hard time fitting that transparency into my Kodak Carousel slide projector.

I wouldn't mind taking lessons in that kind of ART.

I looked at it for a very long time, slightly crossing my eyes, as if it were a stereogram.  After two or three hours, a 3-D portrait of our 45th president seemed to float above the color cells...

At least he got one project right: a son who knows his classics...
