Love the image, but I'd like it more if it filled the frame. The subject is so dramatic it could/should carry the entirety of the picture.

Sorry, Jeremy, but I didn't see it until today (I've been wasting time in hospital when I was supposed to be on a photo tour in Ireland.  Sigh!)

Anyway, I like it. Great catch, very dramatic. And the amount of sea-space around the flukes seems just right to me. It's a big animal and needs a lot of space (even though we can only see the tail at this moment.)

A fine shot but similar to what we see so often. In contrast Berg 1 is really novel.

I like it--technically and aesthetically. It looks good with the black frame that comes up when you click on the thumbnail.

Scott, you're right: it's very hard to take a "new" photograph of a whale. I just liked the way the water streams off.

Bob, I'm happy to take credit for a black frame, and I like the idea, but I didn't set it up. Your browser, perhaps?

I use three browsers regularly. Chrome is my current default, and Firefox is for sites that screw up in Chrome (or when I need a good "Print Preview," which none of the other current browsers have. And then there is Opera, which I now use just for LuLa. And yes, Opera provides the nice black frame.   ;)

For many years Opera was my main browser. About 4-5 years ago they screw up though with the performance and interface and I never looked back. Too bad, they had many innovative things going in the beginning, such as tabs/speed dial and mouse gestures.

That was my experience, too. I gave up on Opera when they "improved" all of its best features out of it. I only tried it again recently and was pleasantly surprised in some ways. But it still isn't ready as a default browser, IMHO.
