Title: Dying, But Lovely

Hello All.
From the Southern Marsh of Louisiana where one acre vanishes each hour. An example I think of how a photograph may confuse or mis-represent it's subject. What appear to be 3 coves are actually 3 gaps in the marsh grass. As a photographer making a record of an ecosystem in trouble, I'm almost always dealing with the tension between what's actually going on and how it can look like thru a camera.

Why is one acre vanishing per hour?  Is this seasonal?

Hi Otto.
This has been going on for many decades. It's caused by 2 main problems: !#-the stopping of water bringing fresh mud and 2#- allowing salt water to intrude into interior ares that cannot tolerate high salinity.
These marshes south of New Orleans are it's most important protection from hurricane storm surges.
