Title: Abruzzo light
Post by: Hans Kruse on November 22, 2017, 11:55:04 am: I wan a small workshop in Abruzzo a couple of weeks ago. We finally got the snow on November 7. Here are two examples of almost the same scene in two very different lighting conditions. Both shot with the Canon 5DSR and the 100.400 f/4.5-5.6L IS II lens at 321mm and 400mm respectively. In both pictures you can see the old castle at Rocca Calascio and the Santa Maria della Pietà chapel below it.

Since they are such different images (as far as lighting conditions go) they are, to me anyway, not really directly comparable.

I have visited this area many times since I came the first time in the autumn of 2007. It never lets me down and with the high altitude of the plateau (1500-1800 meters) there are often clouds drifting over the plateau and sometimes even several layers.

Just to state the obvious that coming back to the same locations is great and worth while.
