Horsetrough is one of the many spectacular waterfalls in the southern Appalachians. It is about 70 ft. in height and is located very near the source/headwaters of the Chattahoochee River in Georgia. I happens to face just a little north of east, and the relative elevation is high enough that if you are going to shoot it, you have to be there at sunrise. An hour after is too late unless it is cloudy. I hope you enjoy!

They are all good, personally I prefer #4 even over #3. The direction of the falling water is supported by the format there, for me. #3 captures the space better, though.

This one is the best at leading the eye through the scene.

Thank you gentlemen. #3 is my favorite of the series as well. It use to be that my favorite of a series would be the one most people disliked the most. I'm either lining up my thinking or accomplishing what I want to accomplish more, not sure which :) Thanks again.

In all honesty I think it is just the change/growth we all experience in photography. I can easily remember going out and thinking I've captured these wonderful images only to get back and realize I had nothing truly pleasing even to myself lol. Now more often than not I get the images I'm striving for, and I'm at least pleased with my own images so I get some satisfaction even as I try to grow. In the end I'm sitting there by a mountain stream or a waterfall (my favorite subjects) wondering how to truly capture the beauty I see. If I'm successful in that endeavor I'm happy. If I can convey that beauty in such a way that others experience it also when viewing my photography that is even better.
To your point, I have most definitely learned a lot from the people on this site. I don't always post a lot but I'm always reading and attempting to learn.
