It's more than 2 years since Lightroom 6/2015 was released, which is now the longest gap between major releases of LR.
LR1 -> LR2: 17 months
LR2 -> LR3: 22 months
LR3 -> LR4: 21 months
LR4 -> LR5: 15 months
LR5 -> LR6: 22 months
LR6 -> ? 25 months so far
Perhaps you're right: they'll just dribble out minor features while still calling it LR 2015.xx
But no enhancement of basic processing since Process 2012, five years ago. I expect that's because Process 2012 is so good that no improvement is possible.
