Icelandic Winter Sketches - 4 (http://blog.parrikar.com/2017/02/25/icelandic-winter-sketches-4)

Lovely colours and contrasts in #3.

Superb, as usual.
For me, these images eloquently refute Russ Lewis's essay in which he asserts that the camera can only "record."
These are more expressive to me than many paintings.

Beautiful work, Rajan. I'll be there in two weeks. It looks like I might miss the best of the snow but am looking forward to being, once again, amongst those wild, open and stark landscapes you capture so well.
If you have any tips for March in Iceland, let me know.

I'll second that. Nice set, and I especially like the minimalism of the second image.

Has Rajan ever taken a bad photo? I've never seen one. These are the usual sublimely beautiful images I've come to expect from him.

Thank you, gentlemen.
Eric - is there a link to the Russ Lewis essay?
Terry - Wishing you a fruitful visit. Tip: don't let your charges plant tripods in the middle of icy roads. Please post images from your expedition.

In the first post in the thread "What's Photography For" in the Coffee Corner.

Great set with very different shots… but they all say "winter" to me.

All good, but "Belt of Venus" is truly wonderful, Rajan.

Excellent trio.

No "charges" this time, just my wife and I. And, yes, we will be careful where we stop...if only there was a map of laybys (or is that laybies?).

Nice, especially 2 and 3.

Love that last one, the colours are incredible
