Wow - worth every second and probably worth hours.

I've just watched Shetland (TV show) on Netflix and my wife and I have been loving the amazing landscapes just backgrounding that show.

My old man is a Scot and I've visited a few times back there, but I think we need to go again, particularly the north.

I really love the following shots:

Sunrise over Buachaille Etive Mòr, Highlands

Reflections of Liathach, North side of Liathach, Torridon

Glamaig Reflection, Sligachan, Isle of Skye

That really is a stunning assortment. I had no idea any part of Scotland could be so dramatic!

The UK in general, and Scotland in particular, has an endless supply of delights for the landscape photographer.
Often exceptionally changeable weather, and hence interesting light, dramatic coastlines and islands, spectacular fjords and lochs (in Scotland), the Pennines and the Dales in England, the Lake District, not to mention the Welsh highlands, and the list goes on and on.

Most people, Brits included, when thinking in terms of landscape photography in Europe thoughts tend toward Iceland, Scandanavia, the Iberian peninsula, the Alps, Italy, Balkan peninsula, etc etc...
However, the UK should be on every serious landscape photographers bucket list.
Do I want to go the length and breadth of Europe doing landscapes - hell yes!
But I also want to go to the multitude of out of the way (by British standards) places in the UK where stunning images are to be had.

BTW I am not a UK passport holder (or a travel agent!) so no skin in the game - would just really like to take my camera there for an extended period of time...
