Hey all,
I've ordered a new cable, and that may solve this, but until I'm able to test it - has anyone had a D810 just stop being recognized by C1 and unable to connect? I started with my 3yo cable, ditched that, and tried a crappy short one (non-Tether tools version) and no luck there either. I'm running El Capitan.
Updated // upgraded to 9.3 and Sierra...same issue. Plugged in D5, works perfectly. So it's a D810 issue?
Thanks!

Check the preferences under the Capture tab. Nikon box checked?

Yup, it's checked. And my d5 works with the same cable.

If D5 works on all the same hardware config/cable and SW, next step is to open sys config and see if the D810 is noted in the USB device list.
If you see a mass store item, your camera is storage is configured incorrectly for tethered.
If you don't see it all, this might confirm a hardware/connector failure.

Yup - d5 shows up and 810 doesn't. So that's a camera port issue?

Hi Doug,
Does the camera have any protocol choices? I'm not familiar with the Nikon menus, but on my Canons there usually is a choice. If the camera remains invisible to the operating system, then a port issue looks like the most likely cause.
Cheers,
Bart

Maybe. Use refresh if hot swapping the devices (CMD+R) to make sure the system info is up to date. If you still don't see anything then it's not looking good.

Tried refresh, no luck. I think I need to send in the camera. Thanks!
