For those who haven't seen, LucisArt is closing up shop on September 1st, but before they go they are selling off LucisArt 6 for $6.
Not making any judgements on the value of the program, just letting people know.

It's worth $6, but not more. I spend nearly that much on a bag of Red Man. I pity the poor suckers who paid hundreds for it.

Did people really pay hundreds of dollars for this? It's Ok but nothing special. I'm not it's worth $6 but maybe I'm wrong.

Back in the day (maybe a decade or more ago), Lucis Art was unique among plug-ins, and had a price tag to match ($595). Since then, other developers' technology met and exceeded that of Lucis, which could not keep up and remained basically a one-trick pony.
It's always sad to see a business fail but this particular model (having to license the technology then outsource its development as a plug-in/standalone) was not sustainable in the current environment.
