Title: Long Exposures Come to Medium Format Digital
Post by: dandill on June 19, 2006, 07:41:21 pm
The shadows in the lead image of the P45 Medium Format Noise article (http://luminous-landscape.com/reviews/cameras/p45-long.shtml) look like the light source was above the bookcase. Is this reflected light from the three monitors off of the ceiling?

Perhaps this is the wrong forum, but having just seen the work of Atta Kim in New York, I'm curious to know how to achieve a very long exposure (1 to 8 hours) under normal ambient light conditions using my Canon 5D.  His work, which was reviewed in the New York Times on July 12th involves making such lengthy exposures of streets, activities etc.  The results are quite mystical.  Save for very slow ISO, small aperature and piles of ND filters, do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks *very* much for pointing out this artist and reveiw. I think the (discounted) catalogue for the exhibition is [a href=\"http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/3865213111/dandillcom]here[/url].
