While In Europe my wife, who shoots jpegs, forgot to reset the camera's clock so all her files have an incorrect timestamp. Is there a way to batch change the timestamp on all her files? She does not use Lightroom. If I import the files into LR and change the time, will the change be reflected in the jpeg file itself or just in the LR database? Thanks.

Peter, go to https://www.google.com/search?q=batch+change+date+time+stamp+on+jpegs&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 and pick your method. Years ago I downloaded a free utility that did the job but I haven't needed to do it for a long time and I've forgotten which utility it was. I don't remember whether or not Lightroom changes the stamp in the files themselves, but one way to find out is to change one file in Lightroom, then check its properties in Windows.

Thanks for the info. I have determined that changing the capture time in LR does not change the capture time embedded in the jpeg itself, so I will need a utility as yo9u suggest.

If you have Aperture (or probably Photos also) then you can do that for any selection easily.
