I am new to C1 Pro for Sony. I am trying to understand the difference between processing and exporting. Isn't processing a raw file converting it to a different format? Can you really process a raw file without exporting to a different format? Please someone, explain the difference.
I wan't to be able to use LR as my DAM but process my files in C1. So, if process the raw file (not convert it) and put it in a folder on a hard drive I call my working drive can I then import the file into my LR catalog while simultaneously moving it to it's permanent place in my image gallery? To reiterate and clarify, I have a working hd and then I have a hd that contains all my image files (raw and converted) named MyPhotoGallery and my LR catalog is on my computer hd NOT on the same drive as my image files.

Yes, good summary. Thanks for the link.
As to the difference between "Processing" and "Exporting", materially there is IMHO none other than that exporting also covers the export settings. Once the settings are set, processing does the same.
