If you have the chance to see the new exhibits in Washington, D.C.'s Renwick Gallery (the Smithsonian's craft museum), after its recent reopening, you will be in for a visual treat.
When we visited it a few weeks ago, upon entering we were immediately amazed by this rainbow sculpture consisting of illuminated colored threads.

One very large room is devoted to another sculpture of fishing nets suspended from the ceiling, lit by an ever-changing play of color lights. Many people just lay down on the carpeted floor and stared up at it--they even had bean bags to make it more comfortable.

Every one of the nine large exhibits by different artists is equally enthralling and quite different. The 2nd floor exhibits are only there until May 9, if you're interested in seeing them all.
Photography is not only allowed, but encouraged.
