Title: Device linked profiles to soft-proof multicolor profiles in Photoshop CS6- help!
Post by: Sunshine7 on December 01, 2015, 08:01:43 pm
I need some help with soft-proofing and using multicolor printer profiles, in Photoshop CS6.

It seems Adobe Photoshop CS6 doesn't support multicolor profiles (anything more than 4 color). The printer profiles I use have been created in Ergosofts GPS software and are 6-color (Epson) or 7-color (Canon) profiles.

They suggest I look into a third party product that can make device-link profiles. Apparently you could make a device-link profile from the ColorGPS ICC Profile to the monitor profile and use that for soft proofing (not use it as a working space profile obviously).

Does anyone have an idea of how to do this or if there is a different way? Do I use ColorThink or something like that, if so, which version etc. and do I need to buy the software or can I pay someone else to create the device-linked profile if I supply the 6 or 7 color profile as well as the monitor profile?

I was hoping to buy a NEC PA272 27" monitor, but if I cant get this to work there is no point...

Thanks all.
