Title: Canson BFK discontinued?

Has anyone else noticed that Canson has  revamped their website and BFK Rives is to totally missing?

I have an email out to them asking the status but I hope it's not discontinued.  Remarkable surface.

There is a new 'Printmaking Rag' in the product line though.  Wonder what that's about.

First what I know for sure:
The contract allowing Canson to use the brands Arches and BFK expired and was not renewed. That is why you won't see this names on their Infinity line any longer.

Now what I believe and wasn't able to get confirmation yet:
The "Print Making Rag" is exactly the "BFK" with a new name.
The "Velin Museum Rag" is exactly the "Arches Velin Museum Rag" with a new name.
The "Aquarelle Rag" is exacly the "Arches Aquarelle Rag" with a new name.
It definitely looks like that, but want a 100% confirmation and my contact inside Canson is on vacation.

Another clue:
Their Printmakers Rag ICC profile for the IPF 8400 has an internal date of creation from 2012, same date of the old BFK. Looks like it is the same profile, only renamed.
The gamut is exactly the same.

that's very promising :)  I had not noticed the lack of 'Arches' in the others.

Maybe the cost of those papers will go down since there is no longer a name royalty.  We can only hope ;)

Canson had a divorce from Arches this year, and that is when their prices went up and their stocks were harder to get. I end up having to get all of mine from Canson in Boston which takes forever.

As long as Felix Schoeller applies the inkjet coatings for Canson other changes will not be noticed I guess.
