I ran the update on my system earlier this week on my Mac Book Pro (see screen capture for details). Initially LR CC 2015.2 crashed when I attempted to boot. I then reverted to LR CC 2015.1.1.
I updated to 2015.2.1 a few hours ago and it has crashed a couple of times but I have been able to make some use. I have the GPU off and the new Add Photos off. Both crashes happened on opening LR and then opened on the retry. I will report further findings.
My iMac on the other hand has not had any problems.

Yes. The 6.2.1 update fixed the constant crashing I was seeing.

Full screen mode (the shift-F one that goes between 3 modes) now works as well.

These were the two biggies I was seeing. I'm on OS X 10.11, which is where most of the problems were I think. I don't believe the crashing fixed by this update was common for people on 10.10.5 or earlier.

I have a similar situation as you have with install LR CC 2015.2, then revert to LR CC 2015.1.1, then installed CC 2015.2.1 and now it crashes on open, generates an error report, then you can open.  Still not fixed and I subsequently reverted to the previous working version.3

Happy to say on my PC running Windows 7 with 16 GB RAM the latest installation went fine; it is working perfectly.
Ad added bonus my GeoForce graphic card now when that preference is picked does seem to improve the Develop process.
