Okay, I'm still waiting for it however I did find something interesting this morning. I've got an old Hoodman loop that's been sitting around collecting dust and thinking what the hell, I tried it. While it doesn't have the electronics it does work. I was able to view the scene and using autofocus capture a file. Not certain I'd be using this to any degree however it does work in a pinch. I'd still rather have the actual WL though and continue to wait for it.

Gaffers tape, duct tape, or scotch tape? Phase One better hurry up and deliver the XF waist level finder---this can't be pretty!

As much as Ken wants to use some sort of duck tape it really isn't needed as the loop fits and covers the screen very nicely. I'll see if I can't shoot a photo later on. Maybe this will get P1 to release their version sooner! :-\

I am quite a bit doubtful on waist level finders. It may just be me, but they never worked for me. What I settled on was to use a prism viewfinder in combination with a 3X monocular.
Why? Well the prism viewfinder I have magnifies 3X and so does the monocular, that is 9X in total. I need a loupe for focusing. If the camera is angled down, I need to bend over the back to get a view. I usually ended up standing at the side and viewing from the side. It may be the classical viewfinder for MF but in my view absolutely useless.
My experience is with the Hasselblad 555/ELD and it is very well possible that the XF is wonderful, but I have a lot of doubt.

Does the XF looks like it is built from the Mamiya 1000s body ?

I bet if you bring out the Dora the Explorer gaffers tape that Phase One will have your XF waist level finder to you by the end of the week...

Hello everyone. I just received my waist level finder last week. I'm to Phase and this using this kind of finder. I really like it. I have one question and it may be trivial. When I use the waist level magnifier I find the image to be very blurry. I'm going to assume I can adjust the magnifier but so far I have not been able to rotate it. I have not tried very hard due to not wanting to break it. I just wanted someone to confirm if it can be adjusted.

It looks like the type of chimney finder that takes different dioptre lenses, rather than having a built-in dioptric adjustment system (as on a modern DSLR body, for example). So, if the image appears blurred, maybe you need a different dioptre from the standard '0' one?
