Title: difference between canon 8400 and 8400 SE?

I have the 8300 for photography and fine art reproductions mostly on canvas.

so the 8400 SE has only 6 colors. are they the same pigment ink as the regular 8400? Will the SE make good looking sellable prints? all product promo videos show it printing posters that look lovely. It supposedly can print canvas too.

comments?

I sure would like to quit having 12 inks that cost a fortune lol

btw looking at the canon 6400 and it comes with cheater low fill carts so the first thing one has to do is go out and buy a full set of ink at high prices. shame on canon for this.

they have 8 inks will they do just fine for excellent quality images? 8 inks is all I need if they look good

It's really hard to tell you what's good or bad.
I have wide range of customers.
Some of them thinks the print from a 4 color printer looks very good already.
Some looks for high details and color.
It really based on what and who do you want to sell.

Inks are the same.
- 6 ink SE-series has much more visible "grain", especially in bright and neutral areas
- 8 ink S-series uses approx. 10% more ink than 12 ink

on these different models. there are no on-island show rooms for these things that I know of
