Title: Import Not Functioning C1 8

I have opened a support ticket, but thought I'd see if answers can be found here quicker.

I attempt to import images (File/Import Images...) and the dialog box opens, but the wheel keeps spinning and then the C1/8.3.3 crashes.  I'm using Mac Pro (trash can) with OS 10.10.5.  Anybody know what causes this to happen.
